Hey everyone, I applied to a bunch of schools last year, and did not submit secondaries to some. I applied again this year, and filling secondaries for all schools. You're not the only one either suffering from essay fatigue or just wanting an easier route. I naively thought that nobody would spend the money to submit a primary and then fail to submit a secondary a few short weeks later. I was set straight by the SDN community, and was shocked to learn that the attrition rate was over 20% at some schools.

Since a lot of people are pre-writing secondaries, I was thinking that it would be a good idea to make a list of schools that screen students before sending...The professors are awesome, plus or minus a few, but that's going to happen anywhere you go. The students are wonderful, again understanding no matter where you go there will always be gunners or otherwise insufferable people. Each school has their own classifications for who gets their secondaries and how many. Some take the top 50% or other set number, some just have a set GPA/MCAT cutoff, etc. For example, Mayo gets about 2500 apps/year (i think) and will do phone interviews (their secondaries) for about 500.
