Model 81 Cartridge carrier question. Hi to all. I am new to this forum. I own several Marlin rifles including 2 XT22 models. I decided that I wanted a bolt action tube fed rifle. I opted for a older 81 as I really like the wood stock and the glossy blue. I am having feed problems. I looked at several other post and used those to narrow the issue.Recently lost an auction for an nice looking Marlin 81, but managed to pick up an almost as nice 80 as consolation. Can't wait for it to get here. From the photos, it's almost a spittin' image of the J.C. Higgins/Marlin 80 I had as a kid. Marlin 81 feed issue. My old marlin 81 is having issues feeding the next round into chamber from the tube. Looks as if the tip of the round is pointing to high to enter the chamber.
