Lim gasket 3800.

The only differences are the sump shape and oil filter adapter and gasket. Oh also the M90 blower inlet tract shape is different (although thats fairly obvious).

I did my own LIM gaskets on my 3400, and with all the new coolant and oil, it ran me about $200 and 10 hours or so, but that was in a freezing garage in January or February of last year. The 3800 is a little easier to do the LIM gaskets than the 3400, as well.

Location: Ames, Iowa. Year and Trim: 98 Caravan is the daily driver 215K. The external leak is not typically what we expect from bad LIM gaskets or a bad UIM. More likely the coolant elbow or a bad o-ring, seal or gasket on that end of the engine. There are a lot of places to look.

The intake gaskets weren't updated to Aluminum until after (~2012) all 3800's stopped being produced (2008). Therefore, no 3800 ever cane with them originally. If you see black edge on your LIM gaskets, near the injectors, they haven't been upgraded to aluminum versions (some cheaper knock offs now exist, along with AC Delco ones).
