Gmc sierra ticking noise when accelerating.

I have a question I was was hoping someone could help me with. I have an 01 z71 extra cab and it makes a noise while accelerating. The noise is a whining type sound and stops when I let off the gas pedal or hit a bump. But starts again as soon as I press the gas again. I thought I was coming from the clutch fan because it doesn't occur when I ...It does sound like more of a dull thud/knock. As stated above, it may be an accessory item making the noise. It's very audible from 2000-2500 rpm's. My truck is a GMC 1500HD 6.0L It kinda sounds like it's coming from driver side, top of engine, towards the rear. I thought it may be an exhaust leak but changed the exhaust manifold gasket with new bolts.When the brake pedal is at rest, the button on the brake light switch is pressed in. When you press the brake pedal, the button comes out and allows the brake lights to work and cancels the cruise control. It makes a click when it gets a little worn, and also when it's a little worn it causes the brake lights to come on at random times.

It is not the pilot injection and there is nothing that you can do to stop it. It is caused by harmonic resonance from the close tolerances in new diesel engines. All diesel engines make this noise but most are too loud for it to be herd. So i bought a tahoe 2012 5.3 2wd recently and it has ticking noise from under the hood on cold start for about 30 seconds and then when i start accelerating but stops when the car is in motion but even when in motion if i accelerate the noise comes back.

I own an 07 with the 5.3 engine and it's making a taping noise. I was told that its the cam going bad. At the start up there's not noise but once it warms up (at idle) the noise is there.
