You should already have everything you need for your pyro build before you have access to lightning bundles, so just use charcoal bundles instead. I have nearly 40/40 in STR and DEX but only 9 and 10 in FTH and INT at SL100. Only SoC and Nameless King are left in the base game before I move to the DLC.

Focus on fth/Int (40/40) and get str/dex up only as much as you need to use weapons you like. Att to 24, end, vig as you please Dark Souls I is far more about looking cool than actual functionality.
