In state, 3.98 UW/4.03 W, 1380 SAT (submitted), 3 AP and 6 Honor classes, and decent EC's (nothing too crazy). Surprised to hear back from Pitt this early but yay!!!A student may receive a March 1ish honors college admission and no merit at all, while another student who is not in the honors college does receive merit. At first we think Pitt is affordable by looking at past tuition rate. However, look at new tuition rate, it seems a bit pricy comparing to other OOS schools that S24 got admitted. The reason we fell in love with Pitt after visit is the medical resources and school size. Also the city size of Pittsburgh is just right.

Pitt doesn't even offer much to stellar in-state students anymore. (post-Covid) Pitt still attracts plenty of full-pay international, full-pay OOS, and full-pay in-state students. Schools like William & Mary and UVA offer zero merit (and they tell you up front) to OOS students as well.
