Amazon prime crashing on roku.

I have a RCA Roku tv and the Amazon prime app kept crashing just after 5 or 10 seconds of starting a movie. So I unplugged the tv and waited about 15 seconds and plugged back in. So far so good. Update - reset of Roku stick seems to have fixed the issue as of now. I haven't experienced this on any of my Stick 3600 or Stick 3800 devices. What I do experience is that Prime Video FF / RW is stupidly hard to control b/c it goes too fast! I did just read that it might work better using the purple D-Pad, so I'll try that soon.

I removed my Prime channel and reinstalled it. works just fine now. When deleting and reinstalling, be sure to reboot the Roku after the deletion of the app and before the reinstallation of the app. The reboot, when done there, will clear out any residual data about the app, which, if part of the issue, might otherwise cause the issue to remain.

This behavior does not happen with any other streaming service, like Amazon Prime, Paramount+, BritBox, etc. All of those work fine. Something is either wrong with Netflix or the Roku TV, but since it affects both Roku TVs I tend to think the issue is with the Netflix app. 01-19-2024 06:31 AM.
