This mist occurs in Torrox and Nerja quite frequently, sometimes it disappears in an hour or so, sometimes it hangs about most of the day. I'm no weather expert but it has something to do with - warm air, cold sea or something like that. A couple of years ago we were driving home along the coast from Almeria and were in the mist all the way.

Rather late, early review. Apr 21, 2023, 7:00 AM. Save. Refreshed by my medicinal Brandies of last night, I awoke a new man. A visit to Plan B for breakfast was followed by a stroll to the Bridge and Castle area. Plan B was fine. Bridge area not so much. There are massive workings on the beach for some distance either side of the river mouth.I prefer trying different restaurants each day. Fuengirola and Benalmadena are only 15 minutes away by train. Trains run every 20 minutes during the day. Benalmadena is like three separate areas. There is the Marina area which is very popular with tourists. Fuengirola tends to be mainly older people. There are a few bars where younger ones congregate. If you are happy with beach in the day and restaurants/bars at night you may enjoy it. Trains do run on Christmas Day, to Sunday times, i.e. every 40 minutes before 0920 then every 20 minutes until around 2200 then every half hour. But check again nearer the time in case they change their minds. We bought the travel card for the green area ( Malaga to Fuengirola) for EUR 1.50 and loaded it with Eur 5. Very convenient to use on the buses as they don't accept bank card. Each journey was 40/45 cts instead of Eur 1.70 for cash payments. Difficult to locate where the travel card can be purchased.

We stayed at The Fuengirola Beach in December, it was a great hotel. The rooms and balcony spacious, lots and lots of loungers and a large pool. It is approx 20 mins walk along the front to the centre but lots of bars on the way and small places to eat.
Re: Bonotren Train Pass. An all-zones Bonotren is €25.05 for 10 journeys. If you’re going to be using the trains a lot it’s worth getting the refundable ticket but that may depend on when you’re coming.
