It seems that so many of the reviews are from people that are owners in the timeshare or something, as they share the same hashtag. People where obeying the new rules, and the resort had one smoking section. It was one of there smaller resorts and the smoking section was only 1, off to the side of the entrance.

It's one of the world's great cities, full of different areas and attractions. That being said, I agree that Merida and Cancun could be a more logical pairing. It would be about a 2 hr flight from Mexico City to Cancun or a 4.5 hr bus ride from Merida to Cancun. Merida is vibrant and full of history and culture.
