I think having some non-lethal options is important for a team. As you said, you can't get info from dead people. Also sometimes you want to take people alive (kidnapping, etc). I don't think you need to build a character that is 100% non-lethal dmg. but having a stun gun or clip of rubber bullets to "finish someone off" nonlethally is good.1.
