Micro 9 Oiling. I am new to owning a pistol. My wife gave me an early Christmas present, a Micro 9. I really like the pistol. However, I think that the Owner's Manual falls short for a newbie. On page 65, it tells you where and how much to oil the gun, but I am unfamiliar with many of terms, so I do not know where to oil.
Pull the trigger a bunch of times. Pull the hammer back and lower it (don't "shoot" the gun and let the hammer drop on the frame without the slide installed). Also work the safety back and forth as you hose it down. I had my Micro 9 CTLG out 3-4 times, it has about 300-400 rounds through it now and so far it has run flawlessly. Only failures at the this point have been slide lock failure on last round. Even with the seemingly tight spring, it’s easy to grab and rack the slide. It’s very clean design. With the Kimber logo on one side and Micro 9 on the other, both of these are classy and clean. In terms of size, the Micro 9 Rapide (Black Ice) is tiny for a 9mm pistol. With a weight of 15.6 ounces, a height of 4.07 inches, a length of 6.4 inches, and a width of 1.08 inches, it is almost dwarfed by an Officers-size M1911, even though barrel length is similar. You'll see what works best and is most accurate. From what I've heard the Micro 9's are not that picky on ammo from the reports so far. There is a barrel lug with a kidney-shaped cam surface milled into it. Make sure this gets the same lubrication treatment. Join the NRA.If not, try disassembling a mag (remove follower and spring), remove the slide, then insert the mag and look down inside the magazine with a flashlight to see how far the release catches are protruding through the catch notch holes in the magazine. They should be sticking out on the inside of the mag just a small amount.Gun was really dirty (good thing...means you have been shooting).
