Holley recommends the No. 1 position for idle speeds below 900 rpm and suggests moving to the No. 2 position for engines that idle above 900 to 1,000 rpm. Here’s a simple tip that can save tons of effort. Make sure the accelerator pump linkage moves the arm to the diaphragm as soon as the throttle is moved.The distance from the gasket to the lowest point on the float will be 1 19/32 (1.6) inches. The float drop is adjusted by gently bending the tab. The tab controls float drop by wedging against the cage, stopping the float from moving farther down. Do not force the float up or down while installed, you’ll mess up the float height adjustment.YOu will need to set/check the float level, that is really the only thing you can do before starting the car (if you have an electric fuel pump), if not you will even have to do that with the engine running. 1. Set the float levels. 2. Adjust idle speed. 3. Adjust idle mixture (either use a vacuum guage or adjust for highest idle speed) 4.This is the 3 piece type of needle & seat. Adjustment is made by turning the nut. The screw locks it in place. There are several orifice sizes, so be sure to use the Holley recommended size. When I got it back and tried using it I had zero-zip-nada low-end throttle response. I mean below 2000 rpm it would not outpull a bicycle. The more-radical-than-stock cam didn't help.Chiphead. Typically the fuel level should be at the bottom of the sight plug, even if the clear plugs are used. Ive never seen the sight plugs held in with e-clips so not sure if you have special bowls. Adjusting the float level an a Holley 94 is the same as 2100, 2110 & AA-1. Get our instruction sheet which includes the float settings on this carburetor here. Test the float for leaks by heating up some water just prior to boiling. Immerse the float and look for any bubbles. Replace the float.
Just use a big screwdriver and a wrench on the nut. Hold the wrench on the nut, and losen the screw. Take off the side plug on the bowl. Turn the nut until the fuel level just barely starts to trickle out of the side hole. Tighten the screw on top of the nut. Put the side plug back in.
