Information. The Crestfallen Warrior is a Character in Dark Souls. He is the first NPC you will meet at Firelink Shrine. He has grown weary of the world and fears his hollowing is inevitable. When engaging in conversation with him, he will reveal useful information about the world and your objectives. Be careful about engaging him in combat.

Im not a lore master of dark souls but the light corresponds to time. So if the is no light, time is stagnant. So the dark firelink is “dark” so time is still. If you killed the maiden in the normal firelink she will rise again (respawn) because time is flowing. Time isnt moving in the dark firelink so she doesnt respawn.
