We are staying in Coral Bay mid Feb.5 days ago · When coming with a group - newbies or experienced STJ visitors we usually have a few “meetings” (involves a few drinks!) where we discuss what we are bringing, dividing those items up, I put together a list of beaches, restaurants, happy hours so that once we are on island and discussing the next day’s activities we can refer to those for ideas. Um "great beaches, great snorkeling"...ST JOHN. Costa Rica is an amazing Country to visit. It is not, however known for either great beaches or great snorkeling. We love CR and find St John somewhat overhyped and overpriced but it does have amazing beaches and snorkeling not to mention food! 2.

You will catch bvi signal (not at&t) on some of the north shore beaches so you may want to turn off international roaming unless you have an international plan.

If you happen to be staying at Westin, the little deli onsite is outstanding and can fill your latte or espresso needs. Best bold coffe on STJ has to be the dominican blend brewed fresh daily at St. John market..
The general background: We were 7 ranging from my kids (18 & 20) to my Mother (80's) and were in St John from 7/8-7/15. We stayed at Villa Lantano in Upper Peter's Bay. We rented 2 jeeps from Courtesy. One of us got the backup camera and one did not. Tip: get a backup camera if it's your first time.

There is a post on the VIPD Facebook page that states 5 armed men were involved. I am honestly a bit shocked this happened at the Westin and early in the evening (9:45pm). Our costs, villa $2600 jeep $900 flights $550 & food, gas, ground transfer and gifts $1000. Also $600 for dog sitters. We bring frozen proteins in back pack cooler and cook in most nights. For a total of $6000. September is also my favorite, closely followed by October. November is a little cooler and less humid and a little more crowded but more places are open including my favorite - Skinny Legs. 5.
