At Dreams, depending on the category booked you could be in a building closest to the ocean. At Elegance, only the AOs are next to the ocean. Family buildings are further in. But at either, even from the lobby it's no more than a 5 minute walk to the beach.The Splash is located behind the Royalton Punta Cana. A shuttle is provided to bring you to the beach area. The Elegance is slightly more elegant but the Colonial has more of a family vibe. They are next to each other, so the beach is the same. Both are lush and tropical as well as compact.

The food at the two is comparable. At times Excellence might be a little better, but Elegance has more variety and choices. Night life we found really boring at Ex. , and quite enjoyable at Majestic. I don't know where you got the idea that ME is more "crowded", unless you are talking about the beach.
