Kaplan 300 page doc. Things To Know About Kaplan 300 page doc.

Do the 300 page doc, use the cube deck, read the Kaplan book, make anki cards, do the section bank, redo the section bank, take at least 3 of the AAMC FLs if not the fourth as well, make anki cards on everything you missed, and then hope for the best Nothing is a guarantee on the MCAT unfortunately.I used Anki, Kaplan, and UWirld since the 300pg document formatting just killed me. I really like the AnKing MCAT deck which you are using since the PS is more comprehensive and cross-referenced Kaplan for context when needed (maybe did this 3 or 4 times when going through the deck) then learned the application on UWirld. However I have seen some people saying a lot of what the MCAT tests on for psych/soc is better learned through just memorizing theorists, psychologists, theories, etc. and that there are better ways to learn it than reading the Kaplan book (like Flashcards and a 300 page document of some sort?).Hey guys! I'll be starting my MCAT prep soon and am trying to organize my resources. For P/S, I'm torn between the 300-page doc and using the Kaplan book. I know this has been discussed a lot previously on this subreddit, but any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I watched all of the KA P/S vids and read the 300 page doc along with it. The 300 page doc is more like a transcript of the videos but there are a lot of additional info not from the videos so it's worth at least skimming along to find which info aren't on the video. For CARS, I've been using Jack Westin (JW). This is a continuing struggle for me.I read the whole 300-page document and immediately ruled out answer B because it's the only Gestalt principle not talked about in the 300-page doc so I thought it was a made-up word. Turns out B is the correct answer The reversible figure above illustrates the Gestalt organizing principle of (black and white figure with vase or two faces) ...

I literally only studied using Anki from the Ortho deck and the Miledown deck for this section. I didn't even read the Kaplan book or the Khan academy 300-page document. These decks were fairly comprehensive and you can essentially tackle every single term you need in the matter of a couple of committed days.

So I went ham on the 300-page doc and premed95's anki deck and raised my P/S score like 4 points in the last few weeks! Got the same P/S score on my actual MCAT too. literally all i learned from kaplan was the difference between groupthink and group polarization which seemed to be on every single practice test lmao. The 300 page doc is based off the Khan Academy videos for psychology and sociology. I just went through the entire Kaplan P/S book + watched every KA socy video (there aren’t too many, sat myself down for an evening) and took notes on that. The problem is the Kaplan book only has some of what you need to know for P/S plus extraneous stuff. The 300 page doc is better because the P/S stuff chosen by AAMC is rather arbitrary and isn't necessarily what you'd expect to find, but that's what they've deemed fair game. FWIW, JS has BOTH the 300pg doc and stuff from the Kaplan book.86 page doc is much more concise and organized. Everything is straight and to the point. A lot of psych terms are just fancy words for stuff that is common sense. I felt the 300 pg document was bloated with too much fluff and images that didn’t help. I liked the 86 pg doc because it just got straight to the point. Doing uearth was much more useful than reading an extra 214 pages

I'm already on Ch. 6 in the Kaplan Behavioral Sciences book, and I recently read of someone scoring a 131 from just using the KA 300 pg doc. Is it worth dropping the book now and switching to the doc? (Exam is June 1 btw)

300 pages will have 3x the content as the 100 page document. I disagree. The 100pg (86pg) document is way more condense and tries to fit in as much info on the page as possible. The 300pg document is far less dense, and everything down to the margins of the document show that it isn't exactly 3 times as much material.Well, I'll be honest, I appreciate the 300-page doc, but I hated reading it and never finished it. This is apparently really common on this sub, which is a large part of why I now recommend the 80-page doc over the 300-page one, and Anki decks above both. As far as the research methods, I don't have a really great comprehensive resource for them.1 resource: 300 pg doc All resources: doc, UEarth, Kaplan P/S, + any weird terms from third parties ... I found the Kaplan P/S review book to be bad because it was missing a lot of information on topics that the MCAT covers. I remember using that book and taking FLs and getting a lot of questions wrong on the P/S section because of content gaps that I never saw on the Kaplan book. I'm retaking my exam and I'm using the 100 page KA document ...

If you already have the Kaplan books, I'd use them first. I'd say their breadth and depth of content are about on the dot for what you need to know for the MCAT. ... Did not use the P/S book tho. My avg FL is 507 out of 7 BP FLs. 86 Page is more than enough. 300 Page is just too much imo. Scored 131 on P/S. I did the 300pg doc in 7 days, 8 days if you include the bonus material (pages 300-335). If you combine that with a lot of practice you should be able to score really well on P/S overall.
