In fact just went and double checked and all is working as intended. Gold and Silver coins can be found as drops off of NPC's. Silver can be mined south of Set City in the abandoned mine area called Rhinohorn. You can get gold ore from obsidian, it is a rare drop from it. Take the ore, cook it in the furnace, get the perk that lets you make coins, put the mold in the furnace.I would say that the forge bottleneck (1 ingot per 10 seconds, only 1 forge in the game) makes obsidian much less desirable cost/time value wise...it would help if they doubled/tripled the durability of obsidian tools and weapons if they're going to do that kind of bottleneck, you know, to offset forcing everyone to share a forge...and take almost 17 minutes just for 100 ingots...Steam Community: Conan Exiles.
