An attachment system would be great to see when NPCs are introduced. Like Fire Emblem. The more time you spend around certain NPCs, the more attached to them you grow, which could affect stats. Like perhaps in combat, when they are in danger, you can get an adrenaline spike that increases your combat effectiveness.

Superb Survivors mod and Subpar Survivors mod are both broken after version 41.65, NPCs now can't deal any damage to zombies. Some modders are currently working on another npc mod called Project Humanoid, but it's very unstable at current, pre-alpha stage. I wouldn't be using the word soon just yet. Haha.

Braven will actively defend themselves, and will assist you at fighting zombies. You can also trade items back and forth with Braven.
