297 posts · Joined 2006. #2 · May 1, 2012. put barrel and spring in the slide. make sure the recoil spring/rod is in place. put slide on frame and lock back. barrel should fall forward so you can get the take down pin in. if not shake the gun to make the barrel slide forward. work with it. it will fall in place. sometime it takes some time.

Lately I've read several posts, on various forums, where guys are having numerous issues with the Ruger. The PF-9 is just more reliable having the few kinks it did have now worked out.
