EDIT: Fixed. Original post follows summation: Intermittent limp mode with two warning lights: the red throttle lightning bolt and the traction control light. One code: P2173. No pattern, could go hours or even a couple of weeks. Shutting down and cycling the throttle would restore it until the next incident. Replacing the throttle body fixed it.

I have seen some seemingly unrelated engine codes cause an abs/esp light, but usually the code in the abs module is related to failed torque request so fixing the engine code clears those lights.
