Highway 55 is back open through the Smiths Ferry area after a weekend rock slide. The Idaho Transportation Department said Monday that the highway will reopen by 9 p. m. in both directions. The rockslide occurred late Saturday night in the work zone between Smiths Ferry and Round Valley. This slide happened in a different area than the rockslide that closed late last fall.
