I had an HK 93 barrel with the same markings as yours. It was in an IC date coded HK 93.Used Surplus Genuine German HK G3 .22 caliber conversion kit Fits and converts all HK91, G3 rifles to shoot the cheap and readily affordable .22 LR ammunition. Includes bolt group, barrel tube, 1 magazine, and cleaning kit and wooden green case. NO MANUALS included as these last units did not have them.These units MAY have bent barrels.The barrel has "648" stamped twice near the chamber, a large "H" stamp, 12 flutes, and flash hider ratchet grooves. The chamber flutes look a bit too deep near the shoulder. The trunnion has a couple stamps as seen and is new and undrilled. The front sight looks like a bad casting but the cocking tube looks like great quality.The pitting isn't going to cause a baffle strike so don't worry about it. Were the pitting at the muzzle crown, then there's a narrow possibility. I'd can it up and shoot it and in the mean while keep an eye out for a replacement barrel. Look for an original HK91 or a contract military barrel that's in excellent condition.

Bought a Brownells barrel June 2019 and haven't used it. Just measured the distance from the barrel to the top of the extension with a Mitutoyo digital caliper and it was .7065"/17.95mm. The gas port is .078" (Starrett pin gauge). I also bought an MR762 barrel from HK USA and removed the MR tab and installed it in the HK417 upper with an AGB.

I'd imagine that you could have a barrel chrome lined as a custom one off. But as stated above that would add 0.001"-0.002" to the bore and chamber.
