The above link is a great tutorial for learning how to perform shield clipping as well as applying it to the Trial of the Sword. After some practice, you should be able to get through walls easily or at least after repeat attempts. Follow along with the video’s directions, and you can get through the Beginning Trials fairly easy.

There haven't been a patch since February or March of last year. Just do box clipping. Much easier and less finnicky.
