I practice draw it at least daily, and shot it at the range yesterday. Has always lit up. But today the battery finally died.

The 1 PRO was lengthened to fit the new Delta Point PRO slide cut, and so as you mention, it won't fit your gun without surgery. I have the ROMEO1 and the ROMEO1PRO, and the 1 PRO is definitely an upgrade. Not only does it have 3-4x the battery life, it has more brightness settings, and much more linear brightness adjustments.
