I removed the barrel and forearm to clean it, after getting it home. To the best of my recollection, the only difference between the 11-48 and the Sportsman-48 was the magazine capacity (the Sportsman was limited to two rounds in the magazine, making it legal for ducks without plugging the magazine.) The 11-48 was a 5 shooter, the 48 Sportsman was a 3 shooter.

I have a 28 gauge Remington 11-48.Have had it apart in the past but at this time I just forget how the bolt came out.From what I remember it was not diffcult. When shooting the shotgun I wipe a little oil with a soaked cleaning patch on the magazine tube.Let us know how you enjoy shooting the shotgun.
