If you're going for thematic, i would throw aru into the pit. Liches are all about sacrifice. I sacrificed 2 companions in my playthrough and killed every possible person i could. Thematically of course. While ascension is a path to power, I'm unsure if a lich would be interested in it, especially considering some of the prerequisites.One build I've seen thrown around for melee Dhampir is Lich using Sorc + Eldritch Knight to take advantage of Vampiric blade's damage/selfhealing for sustain while stacking the Lich DR power with Bloodline ascendance + Elemental and Undead bloodlines for a ton of DR and immunity to crits and sneak attacks. The only things I've found that let you heal/be immune from negative energy aside from the eventual undead transformation are: Blessing of Unlife (7th level lich spell); I assume you get this as part of a combined spellbook whenever you learn 7th level spells (13th level for Witch).
