I do not hear the sound at idle. I have listened with my mechanics stethoscope and I can hear the ticking coming from the valve cover over cylinders 1-3.Two mechanics told me a new engine, or a rebuild. But this 06 pilot has 120000 miles, the lifters have been adjusted, they checked the pistons. Everything was in spec. (thank you Honda) the cam shaft has been adjusted. Honda agreed with me that they should have advised me that the oil leak may damage the alternator, therefore they covered the cost for a new alternator (was a few months outside of the 1 year warranty). After putting it back together and starting it up, the valves make more noise than before.
