For the money in a carry gun, the CDP is the better buy, unless you can find an Ultra TLE II. Checkering and night sights for under $1k.

Two vastly different guns, difficult to compare. Personally I find the Kimber a tad too much to carry and a bit finicky as many 1911's tend to be. On the other hand reliability of the P938 is questionable. Mine was fine until about 500 rounds in and I started having issues with hollow points. I chose the CDP for the following reasons. 1) Lighter (easier to carry) How so, they are both aluminum framed but just the slide is stainless on the Stainless UC-II! 2) Melt job (less chance of clothes snag) Not a concern and the cost difference is way to much just for a melt job. Honestly, I was quite please with how manageble the recoil was. Had to send it in to Kimber for them to fix. Got it back and it still jammed with some federal hydrashok 135g JHPs. Sent it back into Kimber a second time and they polished the feed ramp. Found the only ammo that would work it was Magtech 115g JHPs. I have a springfield XD 9mm that I haven't had much problems with and the Kimber was my first 1911.
