The 30SF (Short Frame) only differs in that the front-to-rear grip profile is diminished. The circumference of the receiver, or the back strap, offers increased comfort and control. This is especially useful for shooters with small hands.

Two very good pistols IMO. My G30 has been the most accurate Glock I've owned, but it is a brick. The Shield 45 is equally accurate and has been perfect through nearly 2k rounds. Both are fun to shoot and handle recoil well (the Shield surprisingly well for its size). The 36 is the easiest to carry. I have a non rail 30, a 30SF rail tenifer, a gen 4 fpf 30, and 2 30SF's one fpf model. The 30S has quite a bit more recoil than a 30 model, and a supurb broken in glock trigger.
