The true fix was using Mobil 1 LV ATF (Blue Label)fluid versus the crappy Dexos VI they recommended originally. That fluid was hygroscopic and caused all the shudder and TC issues. From My understanding they all come filled with Mobil1 now but in true GM fashion they didn't update the manual which still says Dexos VI.

The dealership said there is a new fluid requirements and there is a special tool they are waiting on from Chevy to fix the issue. I'm on a waiting list for when the tool comes in to repair it. They told me that it is ok to continue driving with the shudder and that it will fall under my 100k powertrain warranty.
