The m.2 slot is only pcie 3.0 not 4.0. I can confirm this. I have the new 2021 Alienware r10 with the 5950x and the 6800xt. I swapped out the m.2 ssd that came with it after I confirmed that it wasnt a 4.0 drive. I tested the new 2tb Samsung 980 pro pcie 4.0 drive on it yesterday/still using it. It runs at 3.5gb reads, and 3.5 gb writes.
